Belleville artist Sue Panko's artistic journey is a testament to her unwavering passion for creativity. From her earliest memories, she has been immersed in various forms of artistic expression, ranging from quilting to puppet making, a fiber artist, collage artist, and, for the past 20 years, a self-taught painter. For Sue, art isn't just a pastime; it's an integral part of her identity, shaping her life experiences in unique ways.


At the heart of Sue's artistic vision lies a profound appreciation for simplicity and well-considered design. She draws inspiration from simple shapes and bold colors. Acrylics are her medium of choice, with occasional mixed-media accents. She enjoys incorporating organic shapes, coupled with geometric elements and a touch of whimsy, into her work. This aesthetic pursuit is not just a stylistic choice but a deliberate quest to evoke visual delight and emotional resonance in her audience.


Throughout her career, Sue has garnered recognition for her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Her accolades include "Excellence in Design" awards at Belleville Art Association Juried Shows, along with an Ontario Crafts Council award at the 2017 Quinte Arts Council Juried Show. These honors serve as a testament to Sue's commitment to excellence and innovation in her artistic endeavors. Sue has also participated in the renowned One of a Kind Craft Show in Toronto, Art in the County, and exhibitions hosted by Parrott Gallery in Belleville.
