John, Can you describe how your art helped you cope during a difficult time in your life?

"Art has been my faithful companion since I first discovered it at the tender age of 6. As a prodigy, I was celebrated for my talents in school. However, my journey to becoming a successful artist was not without challenges. My domineering father often beat me and made me feel like an embarrassment to him because of my passion for art. Despite the hardship, art was a constant source of solace during my difficult childhood. It helped me persevere through the beatings and enforced shame, ultimately leading to my liberation. Through my art, I was able to break free from my father's controlling grip and forge my own path. Art continues to be my constant companion and has given me the freedom to create for the rest of my life."
